Program 1 - Shades of Blue Aviation Course

The Shades of Blue Aviation course is designed to introduce the student to the basics of aviation, and the many career fields associated with the aerospace industry. The course consists of ten six-hour sessions for the in-person version and eighteen lessons which take approximately three hours each to complete in the online version. The course is taught by subject matter experts, typically pilots, engineers, and other persons experienced in the field being discussed. The course includes tests to measure students progress for each lesson, and students who successfully complete the course should be prepared to take the FAA written test for their Private Pilot Certificate. As the complement to the course, students are encouraged to take a Young Eagles orientation flight and enroll in the included online ground school course.

Program 2 - Barboza Space Center

Barboza Space Center offers courses that focuses on training tiger teams of junior astronauts, engineers, scientists and drone pilots to learn about future careers in the space industry. They train robots to help astronauts while conducting science experiments for Earth, Moon, and Mars missions. Students learn about cybersecurity, design and electrical engineering, Mars habitat and settlement designing, and work on simulated NASA tiger teams. They also introduce the exciting new field of astrosociology and how to get ready for taking notes in college.
